Beetle in the family Staphylinidae 13–15 mm long. Lives in fields and in forests.
There are 71 observations of Margined Carrion Beetle in Québec, mostly in Capitale-Nationale, Outaouais and Chaudière-Appalaches, and it has been reported in 16 of the 17 regions. They peak in May and become rare from September to March.
