Mammal 5–6.5 m long. Active day and night. Lives at sea. Feeds on animal prey. Forages at sea. The male and the female do not look alike. That is often what explains two very different birds in photos of the same species.
There are 18 observations of Long-finned Pilot Whale in Québec, mostly in Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Côte-Nord and Bas-Saint-Laurent, and it has been reported in 3 of the 17 regions.
