Moss 11 cm long. Grows in forests and in urban areas.

There are 34 observations of Ambiguous Thyme-moss in Québec, mostly in Outaouais, Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Nord-du-Québec, and it has been reported in 5 of the 17 regions.
