Moss 20 cm long. Grows on the coast and in mountains.

There are 492 observations of Fine Bog-moss in Québec, mostly in Nord-du-Québec, Bas-Saint-Laurent and Chaudière-Appalaches, and it has been reported in 15 of the 17 regions. They peak in May and June and become rare from December to April.
