Fungus with a cap of 5.8–15.4 cm. Grows in forests. Spore print white. Lives in symbiosis with tree roots: the fungus brings water and minerals, the tree feeds it sugars.
There are 2 observations of Hated Caesar in Québec, mostly in Laurentides and Mauricie, and it has been reported in 2 of the 17 regions.
