Fungus. Grows in conifers and in forests. Spore print white. Feeds on decaying organic matter.
There are 48 observations of Golden Cup in Québec, mostly in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Côte-Nord and Laurentides, and it has been reported in 13 of the 17 regions. They peak in May and become rare from July to March.
