Fungus with a cap of 6–15 cm. Grows in forests and in mountains. Spore print orange-yellow. Lives in symbiosis with tree roots: the fungus brings water and minerals, the tree feeds it sugars.
There are 78 observations of Salmon milkcap in Québec, mostly in Estrie, Outaouais and Laurentides, and it has been reported in 10 of the 17 regions.
