Fungus with a cap up to 8 cm. Grows in forests and in conifers.
There are 21 observations of Tricholome faux-sejunctum in Québec, mostly in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Mauricie and Capitale-Nationale, and it has been reported in 7 of the 17 regions. They peak in September and become rare from November to June.
