Fungus with a cap up to 10 cm. Grows in forests and in conifers. Spore print white. Lives in symbiosis with tree roots: the fungus brings water and minerals, the tree feeds it sugars.
There are 2 observations of Stinky Knight in Québec, mostly in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, and it has been reported in 1 of the 17 regions.
