Perennial herbaceous plant. Grows in fields and in conifers.

There are 41 observations of Pacific anemone in Québec, mostly in Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Chaudière-Appalaches and Côte-Nord, and it has been reported in 5 of the 17 regions. They peak in May and June.
