Threatened in Québec. Annual herbaceous plant. Grows in fields.

There are 36 observations of Forked three-awned grass in Québec, mostly in Montérégie, Lanaudière and Laurentides, and it has been reported in 4 of the 17 regions. They peak in August and become rare from November to July.
