Perennial herbaceous plant. Grows in forests and in urban areas.
There are 131 observations of Woodland strawberry in Québec, mostly in Estrie, Capitale-Nationale and Outaouais, and it has been reported in 14 of the 17 regions. They peak in May and become rare from October to March.
