Annual herbaceous plant reaching 5–20 cm. Introduced to Québec. Grows in marshes and near water. Flowers from June to October.

There are 374 observations of Marsh cudweed in Québec, mostly in Côte-Nord, Chaudière-Appalaches and Capitale-Nationale, and it has been reported in 16 of the 17 regions. They peak in August and become rare from November to June.
