Perennial shrub reaching 1.2 m. Grows on the coast and in marshes.
There are 292 observations of Creeping juniper in Québec, mostly in Côte-Nord, Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Nord-du-Québec, and it has been reported in 12 of the 17 regions. They peak in July and become rare from December to May.
