Perennial shrub reaching 3–5 m. Introduced to Québec and invasive. Grows in forests and near water. Flowers in June.

There are 99 observations of Multiflora rose in Québec, mostly in Estrie, Montérégie and Capitale-Nationale, and it has been reported in 10 of the 17 regions. They peak in June and become rare from November to April.
