Perennial herbaceous plant. Grows on the coast and on the tundra. Flowers from June to August.

There are 168 observations of White Mountain saxifrage in Québec, mostly in Nord-du-Québec, Bas-Saint-Laurent and Côte-Nord, and it has been reported in 8 of the 17 regions. They peak in July and become rare from November to April.
