Perennial herbaceous plant. Introduced to Québec. Grows in mountains and in urban areas. Flowers from June to September.

There are 52 observations of Rose campion in Québec, mostly in Montréal, Capitale-Nationale and Bas-Saint-Laurent, and it has been reported in 12 of the 17 regions. They peak in July and August and become rare from October to April.
