2.5–10 cmCap

Fungus with a cap of 2.5–10 cm. Grows in forests. Spore print cream. Lives in symbiosis with tree roots: the fungus brings water and minerals, the tree feeds it sugars.

There are 8 observations of Bearded Milkcap in Québec, mostly in Capitale-Nationale, Nord-du-Québec and Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine, and it has been reported in 6 of the 17 regions. They peak in September and become rare from November to June.
