Lichen leafy 10–20 cm across. Grows in conifers and in forests.
There are 23 observations of Membraneous felt lichen in Québec, mostly in Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Bas-Saint-Laurent and Capitale-Nationale, and it has been reported in 6 of the 17 regions. They peak in October.
