Fungus with a cap up to 15 cm. Grows in forests and in fields. Spore print purple. Feeds on decaying organic matter.
There are 45 observations of Wine Roundhead in Québec, mostly in Capitale-Nationale, Estrie and Montérégie, and it has been reported in 10 of the 17 regions. They peak in June and become rare from November to April.
