Perennial herbaceous plant. Introduced to Québec. Grows in marshes and near water. Flowers from June to September.

There are 206 observations of Codlins and cream in Québec, mostly in Montérégie, Capitale-Nationale and Estrie, and it has been reported in 12 of the 17 regions. They peak in July and August and become rare from October to June.
