Annual herbaceous plant. Introduced to Québec and invasive. Grows in urban areas. Flowers from July to September.

There are 532 observations of Ornamental jewelweed in Québec, mostly in Capitale-Nationale, Chaudière-Appalaches and Montérégie, and it has been reported in 16 of the 17 regions. They peak in August and September and become rare from November to June.
