Bird 68–90 cm long. Present year-round, migratory and present mostly in winter. Lives in fields and in marshes. Forages on the ground. The male and the female do not look alike. That is often what explains two very different birds in photos of the same species.
There are 93 observations of Greylag Goose in Québec, mostly in Montérégie, Laurentides and Chaudière-Appalaches, and it has been reported in 10 of the 17 regions.
