Bird 40 cm long. Present year-round. Lives in forests and in thickets. Feeds on a bit of everything, plant and animal alike. Forages on the ground. The male and the female do not look alike. That is often what explains two very different birds in photos of the same species.

There are 7 observations of Red Junglefowl in Québec, mostly in Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Montérégie and Laurentides, and it has been reported in 5 of the 17 regions.
