Bird 66–81 cm long. Partially migratory. Lives in forests and in thickets. Feeds on dead animals. Forages on the ground. The male and the female do not look alike. That is often what explains two very different birds in photos of the same species.
There are 47,347 observations of Turkey Vulture in Québec, mostly in Montérégie, Outaouais and Estrie, and it has been reported in every region. They peak in April and May and become rare from November to March.
