Black-tailed Godwit

Bird weighing 288.4 g. Migratory. Lives in fields and in marshes. Feeds on aquatic prey — fish, crustaceans, molluscs. Forages on the ground. The male and the female do not look alike. That is often what explains two very different birds in photos of the same species.

There are 23 observations of Black-tailed Godwit in Québec, mostly in Montérégie, Côte-Nord and Centre-du-Québec, and it has been reported in 5 of the 17 regions.
