American Eel

Fish 50–152 cm long. Migratory. Lives near water and at sea. Feeds on a living host, at its expense.

There are 1,770 observations of American Eel in Québec, mostly in Montérégie, Mauricie and Lanaudière, and it has been reported in 15 of the 17 regions. They peak in June and August and become rare from November to April.
