Annual herbaceous plant. Introduced to Québec. Grows in fields.

There are 231 observations of Common eyebright in Québec, mostly in Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean and Côte-Nord, and it has been reported in 15 of the 17 regions. They peak in August and September and become rare from November to June.
