Boreal Owl

Bird weighing 137.2 g. Present year-round. Lives in forests and in conifers. Feeds on animal prey. Forages in the trees. The male and the female do not look alike. That is often what explains two very different birds in photos of the same species.

There are 845 observations of Boreal Owl in Québec, mostly in Capitale-Nationale, Côte-Nord and Nord-du-Québec, and it has been reported in every region. They peak in January and February.
