Bird 20–23 cm long. Present year-round. Lives in forests and in marshes. Feeds on a bit of everything, plant and animal alike. Forages in the trees. The male and the female do not look alike. That is often what explains two very different birds in photos of the same species.
There are 41,220 observations of Northern Cardinal in Québec, mostly in Montérégie, Montréal and Estrie, and it has been reported in every region. They peak in April and May, but it is reported every month.
