Bird 28–32 cm long. Present year-round, migratory and introduced to Québec. Lives in forests and in fields. Feeds on seeds and insects. Forages on the ground. The male and the female do not look alike. That is often what explains two very different birds in photos of the same species.
There are 2,446 observations of Grey Partridge in Québec, mostly in Centre-du-Québec, Montérégie and Chaudière-Appalaches, and it has been reported in 12 of the 17 regions. They peak in January and February and become rare from April to November.
