Bird 17–22 cm long. Present year-round, introduced to Québec and invasive. Lives in fields and on the tundra. Feeds on insects and fruit. Forages in the trees. The male and the female do not look alike. That is often what explains two very different birds in photos of the same species.
There are 78,648 observations of Common Starling in Québec, mostly in Montérégie, Chaudière-Appalaches and Estrie, and it has been reported in every region. They peak in April and May and become rare from December to February.
