Bird 20–22 cm long. Present year-round. Lives in forests and in conifers. Feeds on a bit of everything, plant and animal alike. Forages in the trees. The male and the female do not look alike. That is often what explains two very different birds in photos of the same species.
There are 18,944 observations of Pine Grosbeak in Québec, mostly in Bas-Saint-Laurent, Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean and Capitale-Nationale, and it has been reported in every region. They peak from December to February and become rare from April to October.
