American Marten

Mammal 41.6 cm long. Nocturnal. Lives in forests and in conifers. Feeds on animal prey. Forages by climbing. The male and the female do not look alike. That is often what explains two very different birds in photos of the same species.

There are 99 observations of American Marten in Québec, mostly in Capitale-Nationale, Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Nord-du-Québec, and it has been reported in 14 of the 17 regions. They peak in February, March and November, but it is reported every month.
