Eurasian Wigeon

Bird 40–51 cm long. Migratory. Lives near water and in fields. Feeds on a bit of everything, plant and animal alike. Forages on the ground. The male and the female do not look alike. That is often what explains two very different birds in photos of the same species.

There are 754 observations of Eurasian Wigeon in Québec, mostly in Montérégie, Centre-du-Québec and Bas-Saint-Laurent, and it has been reported in every region. They peak in April, May and October.
