Bird weighing 341.9 g. Partially migratory, migratory and present mostly in winter. Lives in marshes and near water. Feeds on plants. The male and the female do not look alike. That is often what explains two very different birds in photos of the same species.

There are 12,971 observations of Eurasian Teal in Québec, mostly in Montérégie, Bas-Saint-Laurent and Chaudière-Appalaches, and it has been reported in every region. They peak in April, September and October, but it is reported every month.
